BMW has announced a recall for certain 2008-2012 coupes, convertibles, sedans, and sports wagons for a problem with the electrical system. The positive battery cable connector and the corresponding terminal on the fuse box could degrade over time increasing the electrical resistance. The high current flow and heat from electrical resistance could lead to a breakage of the connection, and a loss of electrical power to the vehicle. Owners receiving a recall notice will be asked to take their vehicles to the nearest dealership to have the battery cable connector replaced and secured with an improved method.
