Owners of certain 2014 Volkswagen vehicles equipped with 1.8T engines and torque converter automatic transmissions, will be notified to return their vehicles to a manufacturer approved repair facility for a problem that could result in an automobile fire. Approximately 26,452 vehicles are affected by this issue.

Due to a material change of the O-ring seals in the transmission oil cooler, the seals may have been manufactured out of specification. The O-ring may not completely seal between the cooler and transmission, allowing a small transmission fluid leak. Leaking fluid contacting a hot surface could result in a vehicle fire. Volkswagen is not aware of any fires, injuries, or accidents attributed to this issue.
