Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling approximately one thousand 2013 XF 2.0L GTDi gasoline engine vehicles because the engines could stall. The vehicles were manufactured at the Castle Bromwich (UK) Assembly Plant between July, 2012 to May 2013. The NHTSA Campaign Number is 13V341000.

Jaguar has decided to issue a recall due to a concern where the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) hose could separate from the charge air cooler resonator assembly. In the event of a detachment, the driver may hear a loud pop noise as the joint separates and then the vehicle could stall. A stalled engine will result in loss of power steering assist and power braking assist, and could increase the chance of an accident.

Owners receiving a recall notice will be asked to take their vehicles to their dealers to have the CAC assembly inspected and repaired as necessary. For more information about the problem, owners can contact Jaguar at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar’s recall number is J034.
