Subaru of America is recalling certain 2014 Legacy 3.6R, 2014 Outback 3.6R, and 2013 Tribeca vehicles equipped with 5 speed automatic transmissions. The vehicles involved were manufactured June 12, 2013 through June 28, 2013. A total of 202 units could be affected by this defect.

According to the recall report these vehicles could have a parking rod that could come loose inside the automatic transmission. If the parking rod detaches, the transmission may not move from the “park” position preventing the vehicle from moving or the vehicle may be shifted into the “park” position without the vehicle parking mechanism engaged and the vehicle could roll away.

Subaru will be notifying customers to take their vehicles to their dealership to have the entire transmission replaced free of charge. Owners wanting more information about the transmission problem can contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783. Subaru’s recall number is WQJ-46.
