Honda is recalling certain 2012-2013 Honda Fit multi purpose vehicles (MPV) because they may fail to meet the requirements of the Federal Vehicle Motor Safety standards for electronic stability control (ESC). The ECS system of the affected vehicles may allow excessive yaw rates at steering angles with certain tires. Excessive yaw rates could prevent the proper function of the ESC and could increase the risk of an accident under certain conditions. Honda will be notifying owners of the affected vehicles to make an appointment with their dealers to have the ESC software updated. For more information about the Honda stability problem, owners may contact Honda automobile customer service at 1-800-999-1009.
