Mercedes Benz is recalling certain 2011-2012 model year vehicles manufactured between April 18, 2011 to July 12, 2011 because of fuel leaks that could result in a fire. An irregularity in the molding process of the fuel filter flange could lead to the flange cracking when operating in high temperatures. In the event of an ignition source, the leak could result in a vehicle fire. Mercedes will start notifying owners in January 2013 and dealers will replace the flange, free of charge.
