Mercedes Benz 2015 Sprinter Oil Leaks

Mercedes-Benz have identified a defect that will add another one thousand three hundred and thirty five 2015 Sprinter 2500 and Sprinter 3500, 4 cylinder diesel engine vehicles to recall 14V-764.

According to the defect report, the chain tensioner gasket may have experienced variations in material tolerance during production. The affected gaskets could settle and affect the pretensioning force. Over time this may lead to loosening of the chain tensioner and leaks from the engine gasket seal. Leakage of engine oil on the road could pose a threat to following traffic and could result in a seized engine. Oil leakage in the presence of an ignition source could also increase the risk of a potential fire. Continue reading →

2013 Mercedes SL Airbag Classification Problem

A limited number to Mercedes Benz SL-Class vehicles manufactured between January 16, 2013 to April 30, 2013 may be equipped with an Occupant Classification System (OCS) that does not detect a passenger or child seat in the passenger position. Mercedes Benz Investigated For Electrical Problems

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating certain 2008-2009 Mercecdes Benz C-Class vehicles after receiving 21 complaints from owners who say they experienced a loss of one or more rear lamp assemblies as well as overheated electrical connector that resulted in melting connectors, smoke, and fires from the rear lamp connector in the trunk. Mercedes Benz Leaking Fuel Filter Problems

Mercedes Benz is recalling certain 2011-2012 vehicles for a diesel fuel filter leak in the area around the fuel heating component. According to reports filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) diesel fuel may be deposited onto the highway creating a potential for an accident, or the fuel could ignite in the presence of an ignition source. 2005 – 2009 SLK -Class – Electrical System – Vehicles may have incorrect SCN (Software calibration number) coding. This can affect safety and emission functions. If there is a crash, the electrical fuel pump may not receive a crash signal that is necessary for the fuel pump to disconnect and prevent future fuel delivery as designed.
