Research shows that drivers 16 to19 years are at a higher risk of automobile accidents than any other age group. These studies suggest that new drivers are more at risk because of their lack of experience behind the wheel, prompting many states to advocate graduated driver licensing programs. Honda will be recalling certain 2007-2008 Honda Fit hatchback vehicles after investigating consumer complaints of door window switches overheating and catching fire.

The problem is the result of a previous recall repair that required attaching a protective plastic cover with butyl rubber adhesive to the exterior of the power window master switch. The cover was installed to provide protection from water intusion into the doors, but over time the plastic cover could start separation from the window switch surface allowing water to enter the switch. Water intrusion of the switch will cause it to overheat and could catch fire. Continue reading
