After fourteen (14) unsuccessful repair attempts, the owner of a 2013 Dodge Dart contacted the Law Offices of Delsack & Associated, P.C. for advice. She told us she complained to her Chrysler dealership many times about the trouble she was having. These problems included a defective transmission and engine which resulted in loss of power under normal operating conditions, and a check engine and service transmission warning light that remains on. GM Seat Mounted Side Impact Airbags Could Rupture

General Motors will be asking a small number of Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC owners to return to their dealership for a safety problem affecting the front seat mounted side impact airbags. During an accident necessitating the deployment of the side impact air bags, the inflator may not properly inflate and could rupture and throw metal fragments that could injure occupants. Cadillac ATS Sunroof Could Unexpectedly Close

General Motors has decided that certain 2013-2016 Cadillac ATS vehicles equipped with power operated roof panel systems may fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. They will be contacting owners to return to their dealerships for repairs. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the overhead roof console accessory switch trim plate may have switches that are not fully recessed in the panel. The switches could inadvertently be pressed resulting in an unexpected sunroof closure. Although the roof panel does have an auto reverse feature to prevent injury from unintended closure, it may not protect against all injuries. Continue reading →

2013 Fiat 500 Electric California Lemon Law Buyback

After leasing his 2013 Fiat 500 Electric in January 2014, the owner began experiencing repeated problems with his car. He had been taking the vehicle back in since February 2015 and had given his Fiat Chrysler (FCA) dealership five chances to try and repair his Fiat. Jeep & Dodge SUVs Investigated For Repeated Electrical Problem

According to reports filed with the NHTSA, an investigation has been opened to examine the effectiveness of a recall repair affecting certain 2011-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles.

On July 1st, 2014 Chrysler issued safety recall 14V-391 (Recall #9) to remedy a wiring related fire hazard in which an electrical short in the vanity lamp wiring in the sun visors could overheat and ignite. The Office of Defect Investigation (ODI) has received 8 reports of fires occurring after the remedy was installed. Some occupants report smoke, sometimes followed by flames, coming from the headliner. If the investigation leads to a recall, approximately 661,888 SUVs could be affected.

2013 Fiat 500e Powertrain Repeated Repair Attempts

In August 2013, Chrysler opened an investigation into certain 2013 Fiat 500e battery electric vehicles because drivers were experiencing excessive noise from the powertrain and loss of drive capability. The investigation found that due to product, process, and rework anomalies, the half shaft joints on the suspect vehicles may not have been engineered and developed for this application. 2014 Chevy Impala Overheating Brakes

A defect affecting certain 2014 Chevrolet Impala cars will have over one thousand owners returning to their dealerships a second time for repairs. According to reports, some Impala’s repaired under recall 14V-541 may have existing electronic parking brake software that will cause the brake pads to stay partially engaged with the rotor. The driver may experience poor vehicle acceleration, undesired deceleration, excessive brake heat, and premature wear to some brake components. (The park brake indicator may not illuminate even though the parking brake is engaged.) Continue reading →
