Porsche will be replacing engines on approximately two hundred 2014 911 GT3 coupes after reports of two fires. Chrysler Brake Defect Affects Dodge & Jeep SUVs
Chrysler has submitted a noncompliance report with the NHTSA containing details of a safety defect that could affect braking in certain 2011-2014 Dodge Durango and 2011-2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. Nissan / Infiniti Airbag Classification Problem
An investigation has lead Nissan to identify a problem in certain Nissan and Infiniti vehicles, where the passenger air bag did not deploy and the air bag status light was not illuminated. The investigation uncovered a problem in which the Occupant Classification System (OCS) classified the seat as empty even though it was occupied. General Motors will be contacting owners of certain 2013-2014 Cadillac XTS full size sedan about a defect relating to motor vehicle safety and the booster pump relay connector. Dodge Durango & Jeep Grand Cherokee Hard Breaking
Chrysler has alerted the NHTSA about a problem in certain 2012-2013 Dodge Durango and 2012-2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles which could result in drivers experiencing longer stopping distances than expected. Toyota will be notifying owners of certain 2014 Highlanders about a manufacturing error that could result in the vehicles not meeting the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety standards for “Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages”. Nissan has filed a defect notice with the NHTSA for an electrical problem affecting certain 2012-2014 Frontier trucks. Nissan will be asking 13, 535 owners to return their automobiles to a manufacturer approved repair facility to have their trucks inspected and repaired as necessary. Instrument Panel Failure In 2014 Silverado And Sierra Trucks
General Motors is petitioning the NHTSA to not recall certain 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra trucks for a technical hiccup that could result in the instrument panel display being temporarily interrupted.
According to a non-compliance report sent to the NHTSA last October, under certain rare circumstances, when an owner uses the steering wheel controls to browse songs from an external device plugged into one of the vehicle’s USB ports, the instrument cluster could reset. When the instrument cluster resets, the analog gauges and identifications, the shift position indicator, and the cruise control could briefly turn off. In addition, some of the instrument cluster warning lights may also illuminate briefly without a condition being present. Continue reading
