Chrysler will be recalling certain 2012 RAM 4500 and 2012 Ram 5500 trucks manufactured between February 2, 2012 through to the end of the 2012 model year.

According to the recall report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), certain vehicles may have a front axle carrier (differential housing) that can rotate relative to the axle tube. The front prop shaft could become bound up and fracture at the universal joint, resulting in a loss of power and damage to surrounding components if the prop shaft continues to spin. Automobile manufacturers say that over fifty percent of all vehicles on the road will have some sort of voice recognition technology integrated into their systems by 2020. They advertise these systems as increasing automobile safety by allowing the driver to keep their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road, but according to a recent study done by the American Automobile Association (AAA), drivers using this type of technology are actually creating a different and worse safety risk by creating mental distractions. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have opened a preliminary investigation into whether certain 2003-2004 Honda Odyssey Minivans should be recalled. There have already been six consumer complaints of sudden airbag deployment and forty one complaints alleging the vehicle’s air bag warning light illuminates intermittently. Continue reading
