Hyundai will be contacting the owners of certain 2013-2014 Genesis Coupes about a safety defect affecting their vehicles power train. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the differential and suspension rear cross member may have not been properly aligned during assembly. The bolts that secure the differential could loosen and the drive shaft may disconnect from the differential. Loss of propulsion could increase the chance of an accident.

Owners receiving notices will be asked to return to their dealerships to inspect the differential assembly and repair it as necessary. For more information about the problem, owners are asked to contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-671-3059. Hyundai’s number for this recall is 135 and the NHTSA campaign number is 15V-756.
