Aston Martin North America have filed a defect information notice with the NHTSA because of an issue related to the throttle pedal arm in certain 2008-2014 vehicles. This notice supersedes NHTSA campaign 13V-228. Any vehicle that has been repaired under the previous recall will be asked to return their automobiles to have the problem remedied again.

On December 2013, Aston Martin received reports from a dealer who said that, in the process of repairing the recall, the pedal arm on the new throttle pedal assembly broke. The automobile manufacturer immediately suspended shipping pedals and launched an investigation. Investigation tests revealed that the pedal arm was not manufactured to specification. Errors in the temperature setting of the injection molding machine meant that the quality of the pedals could not be verified.

The vehicles affected by this problem includes:

  • 2008-2014 DB9
  • 2009-2012 DBS
  • 2010-2012 Rapide
  • 2014 Rapide S
  • 2011-2012 V12 Vantage Coupe
  • 2008-2014 V8 Vantage
  • 2011-2014 V8 Vantage S
  • 2012 Virage

Owners wanting more information about the defect are asked to contact Aston Martin customer service at 1-888-923-9988. Aston Martin’s recall number is RA-03-0016 and the NHTSA Campaign Number is 14V-010.
