Jaguar Land Rover North America have identified an airbag problem affecting certain 2013-2014 Range Rover luxury four-wheel drive sport utility vehicles (SUV). Owners will be notified to take their Land Rover to an authorized repair facility to have the front side squab foam modified for clearance. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is once again making it increasingly difficult for automakers to achieve top ratings for vehicle safety, by tightening testing criteria for the third time since 2006. The tests will evaluate two aspects of safety: crash worthiness – how well a vehicle protects its occupants in a crash – and crash avoidance and mitigation – technology that can prevent a crash or lessen its severity. Owners of certain 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedans will be asked to make arrangements to have their vehicles towed to the nearest Infiniti retailer so that repairs can be done to the steering system. A limited number to Mercedes Benz SL-Class vehicles manufactured between January 16, 2013 to April 30, 2013 may be equipped with an Occupant Classification System (OCS) that does not detect a passenger or child seat in the passenger position. With only 5,000 miles on his new 2012 Toyota Rav 4 EV, a Manhattan Beach, CA resident started noticing problems related to the charging system of his vehicle.
