The owners of certain 2015 Ford F-150 vehicles will be contacted by the manufacturer about a assembly defect affecting their vehicles steering. Some of these trucks may have been built with a steering upper shaft that was improperly riveted. The shaft could separate from its coupling resulting in sudden loss of steering control.

Owners receiving notices will be asked to return to their dealership to have the intermediate shaft inspected and replaced as necessary. For more information about the problem, contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 15S17 and the NHTSA campaign number is 15V-279 .
