During a routine inspection of certain 2015 Nissan Armada SUV’s, it was discovered that the transmission on certain vehicles may not fully engaging in the “Park” position. An investigation found that interference with the transmission housing was preventing the parking pawl from engaging completely and could result in the vehicle unexpectedly rolling away.

Nissan will be asking owners to return to their dealership to have the casting date stamp on the outside of the transmission housing inspected. Transmissions within the affected date range will be replaced with a new one. Owners wanting more information about the transmission problem are asked to contact Nissan customer service at 1- 800-647-7261. The NHTSA campaign number is 14V-803.
