General Motors (GM) will be recalling certain 2013 Buick Lacrosse and 2013 Cadillac SRX vehicles equipped with Driver Shift Control (DSC), also known as manual mode. The transmission software in these vehicles may cause the transmission to shift from manual mode to automatic mode unexpectedly, eliminating any transmission engine braking effect. Under certain circumstances, the unexpected switch could increase the risk of a vehicle crash. Owners receiving a recall notice will be asked to take their vehicle in to the nearest dealership to have the transmission control module reprogrammed. For more information about the problem, Cadillac owners can call 1-866-982-2339 and Buick owners can call 1-866-694-6546.
