Nissan will be sending notices to certain 2015 Rogue, Sentra, and Versa Note owners, regarding a problem with left hand door latch mechanisms. According to the defect report, some door latch mounting plates may have been manufactured out of specification. Binding of the ratchet mechanism which captures the door striker as the door closes could result in the door not fully latching and opening while driving. Occupants not wearing seat belts could fall out and/or the distraction could increase the risk of an accident. Continue reading

The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety standard (FMVSS) No. 401, requires that all vehicles have a release mechanism installed in the trunk that will make it possible for a person to open the trunk from the inside. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, certain 2010-2014 Ferrari 458 Italia and Spider vehicles may not comply to this standard. Ferrari has determined that vehicles manufactured prior to a running change made in May 2013 may not release the secondary latch when the vehicle is stationary. Honda is recalling certain 2012 Honda CR-V and 2013 Acura ILX vehicles for a problem that could lead to the doors not fully latching. If the manual or power door lock is activated at the same time the interior front door handle is being operated, the cable connecting the interior door handle to the door latch mechanism could become loose and move out of position. The door may not fully latch and could open while driving. Honda will replace the front door latch assemblies and the interior front door handles.
