California based U.S. Suzuki, announced yesterday that they will stop selling automobiles in the United States as a plan to restructure the business. According to Suzuki, slow sales, low foreign exchange rates and expensive state and federal regulatory requirements has lead them to exit the car business and focus on selling motorcycles, all terrain vehicles (ATVs) and marine outboard engines. American Suzuki said it will continue to honor all car warranties and lemon law buyback agreements and will work with its car dealerships to help them transition to a parts and service operation. The bankruptcy does not involve the company’s parent, Suzuki Motor of Japan.
