According to reports, internal tests have shown that the rear axle control arms from a certain production batch may not meet the required specification. This reduced durability, under severe use or after an extended period of time, could result in the connecting links of a control arm to break. Owners of certain 2014 Cadillac ELR luxury plug-in hybrid compact coupes will be asked to return their vehicles to a manufacturer approved repair facility because they may fail to conform to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for Electronic Stability Control (ESC). Approximately 3,837 cars manufactured between October 2012 to October 2013, and equipped with a DQ- 200 direct shift gearboxes, could experience a sudden loss of power while driving because of this problem.
