2008 Chevrolet Silverado California Lemon Law Buyback

We recently met with a San Bernardino, California resident who had purchased a new 2008 Chevrolet Silverado at a nearby dealership. After only 31,000 miles, the transmission started slipping in second gear and had to be brought to the dealer for repairs. The problem recurred at 46,000, 76,000, and 79,000 miles, but the dealership was unable to repair the problem. General Motors (GM) is recalling a small number of 2014 GMC and Chevrolet SUVs because these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) for vehicle brake systems. General Motors (GM) will be recalling certain 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra trucks because the airbags on these vehicles may not deploy properly. NHTSA Investigates Hyundai And GM Problems
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) are launching an investigation into certain 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe vehicles after two complaints alleging failures of the right front axle shaft. In both instances the failure occurred with less that 5,000 miles on the odometer. The preliminary investigation will determine if the safety problem requires a recall that could affect approximately 50,000 vehicles. Continue reading

GM Sedans with eAssist Experience Trunk Fires
General Motors have announced a recall for over 38,000 Chevrolet and Buick sedans equipped with its “eAssist” mild hybrid system. According to GM overheating of the circuit boards in the Generator Control Module (GCM) could result in loss of battery charge, the illumination of the engine malfunction indicator light, and in extreme cases, a fire in the trunk. Two trunk fires have already been reported as a result of the issue. Continue reading
