Tesla has acknowledged a problem affecting certain Universal Mobile Connectors (“UMC”) NEMA 14-50 adapters used to charge Tesla Model S vehicles. According to the recall report, a variety of factors such as corrosion, physical damage to receptacles, or inappropriate installation of electrical outlets can cause higher than normal electrical resistance. Electrical resistance heating in the adapter or at the wall socket could lead to melting of the adapter, cord or wall receptacle. Maserati North America has determined that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists in sixty three 2014 Maserati Quattroporte GTS V8 vehicles. The automobile manufacturer has notified the NHTSA about the defect and will be asking owners to take their vehicles in to the nearest manufacturer approved repair facility to have electrical repairs done to the alternator starter wiring harness. 2014 VW Jetta Hybrid Sudden Loss Of Engine Power
Volkswagen will be asking owners of certain 2013-2014 Jetta Hybrid cars to return their vehicles to the nearest VW dealership to have the gearbox oil replaced. Approximately 3,837 cars manufactured between October 2012 to October 2013, and equipped with a DQ- 200 direct shift gearboxes, could experience a sudden loss of power while driving because of this problem. Electrical Short Reduces Visibility In Toyota Avalon, Camry, & Corolla Cars
During a routine manufacturing inspection of certain Avalon, Camry, and Corolla cars, Toyota found a number of the vehicles in which the wiper function would become inoperative. After an investigation, Toyota has identified a problem with the windshield wiper switch and will be asking owners to take their vehicles into their nearest Toyota repair facility to have the problem fixed. 2014 Chevrolet Malibu Electrical Problem
General Motor’s have identified an electrical installation error in certain 2013 Chevy Malibu sedans equipped with an eight way power front seat and passenger seat options. The wiring harness in these vehicles may have been installed poorly and could chafe against the seat frame, eventually wearing through the wires insulation. A short in the electrical system could result in unintended movement of the seat, sparking, intermittent lighting, melted wiring, smoke or a fire. Continue reading

Chrysler is recalling certain 2013 Dodge Challenger vehicles manufactured in December 2012 and January 2013 and equipped with a V6 engine. Acura TSX ECU Corrosion Problem
Honda is recalling certain model year 2004-2008 Acura TSX vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in states that use corrosive materials for deicing.
