Volkswagen has announced a recall involving certain 2012 Passat vehicles built between January 2011 through to June 2011. According to the recall report submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), certain vehicles may have been built with a diesel fuel filter element that does not seal correctly. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could lead to an engine fire. Owner will be notified of the problem starting in May, and dealers will replace the element with a serviceable one. VW Routan Rear Hub Assemblies
Volkswagen is recalling a small number of 2012 Routan minivans for a problem with the right hand rear hub and bearing assemblies. According to VW, the vehicles affected were built between November 15 to November 21, 2011, and were installed with a hub and bearing assembly that was not fully machined by the manufacturer. Audi A6 Airbag Flaw
Volkswagen is recalling certain 2012 Audi A6 sedans manufactured between April and May 2011. Because of a problem with the stitching process of the curtain air bag, the air bag may not deploy properly leaving occupants unprotected. Volkswagen has announced a recall for certain Volkswagen and Audi vehicles equipped with a 2.0L TDI common rail diesel engines. According to a report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), fuel injection pulses could create stress in the fuel line at the #2 injector. The stress could lead to cracks, fuel leaks and a potential fire in the presence of an ignition source. The vehicles involved in this recall include:

Volkswagen Jetta Recalled For Burn Hazard
Volkswagen will be recalling certain 2011-2012 Jetta Sedans for a potential burn hazard. The problem is being blamed on a stainless steel exhaust tip installed on the tail pipe. The pipe extends beyond the length of the factory exhaust pipes which could lead to inadvertent contact when accessing the trunk. Audi R8 Spyder Recalled For Fuel Problem
Volkswagen has issued a recall for certain 2011-2012 Audi R8 Spyder sports cars. In the report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) the auto manufacturer said that a fuel supply line in the engine compartment could rub against the heat shield creating a leak in the line. Volkswagen Jetta Investigated For Fuel Leak
After receiving seven complaints, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has decided to open an investigation into fuel line leaks in some 2011 Volkswagen Jetta and 2011 Volkswagen Jetta Sportswagen vehicles. Drivers complained about leaks at the fuel line to the number two fuel injector on Jetta vehicles equipped with 2.0L TDI common rail diesel engines. Because these engines operate at extremely high fuel injection pressures, the NHTSA’s wants to do a preliminary evaluation to assess the frequency and potential safety consequences of the defect.
VW Recalls Vehicles For Tire Monitoring System
Volkswagen is recalling certain 2012 CC model vehicles for failing to comply with the Federal motor vehicles safety standards for tire pressure monitoring. Certain vehicles that had their factory installed wheels and tires replaced with accessory wheels and tires may not have the proper tire pressure monitoring sensors (TPMS) installed. With the incorrect sensors, the driver will receive inaccurate warnings for the inflation of the tires. Improper tire pressure can lead to premature wear and eventual failure of the tires.
