Honda has announced that they will be recalling certain 2006 CR-V compact SUV vehicles for a problem that could lead to loss of steering. According to the recall report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the weld strength of the sub frame bushing collar to the passenger side front lower arm is insufficient for the vibration in that area. The collar could separate from the arm leaving the driver without steering and increasing the chance of an accident. Honda will inspect the production stamp of the passenger side front lower arm and replace affected parts as necessary. Owners wanting more information on the issue can contact Honda Customer service at 1-800-999-1009.

Maserati has announced a recall for certain 2009 Granturismo sports cars and 2009 Quattroporte luxury sedans. The problem is being blamed on incorrect machining of the rear suspension left and right tie rods. The rods could fail resulting in loss of vehicle control. In the recall, dealers will replace the affected tie rods, install a tie rod kit and perform a wheel alignment, free of charge to the customer. Owners wanting more information on the recall can contact Maserati at 1-201-816-2600.

Nissan is recalling certain 2011-2012 Altima sedan manufactured between April to June 2011 at the Canton, Mississippi plant. If the bolt comes off completely, the driver could experience difficulty controlling the car. Nissan will replace the transverse link bolts and nuts making sure they are tightened to the proper torque. Owners wanting more information on the recall can contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

General Motors Cadillac CTS recall rear suspensionGeneral Motors is recalling some 2009-2010 Cadillac CTS vehicles for a problem that could significantly change the handling of the vehicle, increasing the chance of an accident. GM suspects that some of the vehicles may have a condition where the wax coating on the rear suspension toe link jam nuts may allow the nuts to loosen. The driver may hear a metallic clanking noise coming from the rear of the vehicle, eventually leading to the toe link separating and allowing the wheel to turn inboard or outboard.

Dealers will clean the wax residue from the rear suspension toe link and install two new jam nuts, and if necessary replace the rear suspension toe link. GM has not yet provided an owner notification schedule, but owners may contact Cadillac at 1-866-982-2339 or go to www.gmownercenter.com for more information.
