Nissan will be contacting the owners of certain 2012-2013 Infiniti M35 hybrid vehicles about a software update affecting the propulsion system. These vehicles are equipped with a power train that warns the driver in the event of a cooling system malfunction. If the warning lamp is ignored and the vehicle continues to be operated, the power train control module logic will shut off the engine to prevent damage. 2016 Mercedes Benz GLE450 Engine Shuts Down While Braking
Daimler AG has determined that certain 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE450 Coupe 292 platform vehicles have an issue with the engine control unit (ECU). According to the defect report, the engine control software might cause the engine to unexpectedly shut down while braking. The driver may interpret the shut down as a planned ECO start/stop, but the engine will not restart automatically and will require the driver to restart the vehicle manually. Depending on the traffic situation, an unintentional engine shut-down could increase the risk of a crash.
Those receiving notices will be asked to return to their dealerships to have the ECU software updated. For more information about the problem, owners are asked to contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. The NHTSA campaign number for this recall is 16V-440.
2015-2016 Subaru WRX and Forester Engine Stalls
Subaru will be asking the owners of certain 2015-2016 WRX and Forester vehicles to return to their dealerships to repair a problem affecting the turbocharger air intake duct. According to the defect report filed with the NHTSA, the manufacturer used the wrong material for a portion of the duct. The difference in material could result in cracking in that area and an engine stall. Volkswagen E-Golf Electric Vehicles Could Unexpectedly Shut Down
The owners of certain 2015-2016 Volkswagen e-Golf electric vehicles will be contacted by the manufacturer about a problem that could lead to sudden unexpected shutdown. Under certain conditions, oversensitive diagnostics in the battery management system may classify a brief internal electrical current surge as a critical battery condition. 2014 Nissan Rogue Fuel Defect Expanded
Nissan North America will be asking owners of certain 2014 Nissan Rogue crossover SUVs to return to their dealership to repair a problem that could result in the vehicle unexpectedly stalling. Certain vehicles manufactured between January 2, 2014 and June 7, 2014 are already subject to Recall 15V-197, but upon further review of warranty data, Nissan is expanding the recall to include vehicles manufactured from the start of production (July 25. 2013) to December 21, 2013. Mercedes Benz will be asking a small number of 2016 GLE450 4Matic Coupe and 2016 GLE63 AMG S 4Matic coupe owners to return to their dealerships to repair a problem affecting their vehicles powertrain. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the rear drive shaft bolts may loosen and the rear drive shaft could separate from the transmission or the rear axle differential. Mercedes Benz Camshaft Defect
Mercedes Benz will be asking the owners of certain 2015 CLA250, 2015 GLA250, and 2016 SLK300 vehicles to return to their dealerships to repair a defect that could increase the risk of an accident. Due to a production deviation at the supplier, certain vehicles equipped with four cylinder gasoline engines could have camshaft welds that have been manufactured outside of specifications.
