Nissan North America will be asking owners of certain 2014 Nissan Rogue crossover SUVs to return to their dealership to repair a problem that could result in the vehicle unexpectedly stalling. Certain vehicles manufactured between January 2, 2014 and June 7, 2014 are already subject to Recall 15V-197, but upon further review of warranty data, Nissan is expanding the recall to include vehicles manufactured from the start of production (July 25. 2013) to December 21, 2013. 2013-2015 Nissan Leaf Brake Relay Failure
Nissan will be contacting the owners of certain 2013-2015 Nissan Leaf vehicles about a problem that could result in extended braking distances. According to the defect report, the relay inside the electronic brake booster could freeze in cold temperatures. If this occurs, the vehicle will illuminate the brake warning lamp and the system will set to “assist mode”. More pedal effort and increased braking distances could increase the risk of an accident. 2013-2015 Nissan Altima Repeated Repair Attempt
Nissan will be notifying the owners of certain 2013-2015 Altima‘s about a safety problem affecting the hood latch of their cars. According to reports, these vehicles have been previously repaired under recalls 14V-565 and 15V-116.
A manufacturing error affecting the hood latch assembly in some of the subject vehicles may result in poor paint adhesion to the latch. Over time exposed metal may corrode and cause mechanical binding that may result in the latch to remain in the open position. If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving. Continue reading
2015 Nissan Rogue Shift Selector Problem
Certain 2015 Nissan Rogue vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) for “Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention”. According to reports, a routine vehicle inspection found a quality issue with certain transmission shift selector knob parts. The problem could result in the shift selector being moved out of the “Park” position while the brake pedal is not depressed. The vehicle could unexpectedly roll, increasing the risk of a crash. Nissan Altima & Maxima Reduced Braking Ability
A small number of 2015 Altima and 2016 Maxima owners will be contacted by Nissan about a safety problem affecting the braking system. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, the bolts securing the brake caliper assembly to the steering knuckle may have not been properly torqued. Over time, the the caliper assembly could loosen and in extreme circumstances could separate completely. If a bolt loosens, the driver may notice noise and/or vibration. Continue reading
2010 Nissan Altima Buyback For Repeated Repair Attempts
After repeated complaints to his dealership and eight (8) unsuccessful repair attempts on his 2010 Nissan Altima, the owner contacted our California lemon law offices for advice. He told us he suspected his transmission was defective as it would whine and slip, and metal shavings were found in the transmission fluid. 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Ca Lemon Law Buyback
The Law Offices of Delsack & Associates, P.C. were contacted by the owner of a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder purchased in July 2013. Four months after driving the vehicle she started experiencing problems with the transmission which caused the vehicle to shudder and the 4WD light to illuminate while in 2WD. Nissan Versa Lower Console Could Impede Braking
Nissan will be asking owners of certain 2014-2015 Nissan Versa and Versa Note vehicles to return to their dealerships for a problem that could impede braking. According to reports filed with the NHTSA, under rare circumstances, the driver’s shoe could contact and catch the edge of the center console lower trim panel, potentially impeding smooth pedal operation. The brake and accelerator pedals remain fully operational, however, this condition could cause a slight delay in braking which could increase the braking distance. Continue reading
