Hyundai will be asking the owners of certain 2016-2017 Santa Fe vehicles to return to their dealerships to repair an electrical problem affecting the seat belt warning system. The subject vehicles use a front occupant seat belt buckle with an integrated switch to monitor the seat belt latch status. In some Santa Fe’s, the seat belt buckle harness could be damaged by the height adjuster mechanism. If this happens, there will be no audible signal or warning light that the seat belt is not fastened or the chime and indicator light will stay on even when the seat belt is buckled. Continue reading

Nissan North America will be asking owners of certain 2014 Nissan Rogue crossover SUVs to return to their dealership to repair a problem that could result in the vehicle unexpectedly stalling. Certain vehicles manufactured between January 2, 2014 and June 7, 2014 are already subject to Recall 15V-197, but upon further review of warranty data, Nissan is expanding the recall to include vehicles manufactured from the start of production (July 25. 2013) to December 21, 2013. Hyundai Equus & Genesis Windshield Wiper Failure
The owners of certain 2011-2013 Hyundai Equus and 2012 Hyundai Genesis vehicles will be contacted by the manufacturer about a problem that could result in reduce drivers visibility. According to the defect report, the subject vehicles are equipped with a windshield wiper motor in which the cover seal could degrade over time and allow corrosion to develop on the wiper circuit board. 2013-2015 Nissan Leaf Brake Relay Failure
Nissan will be contacting the owners of certain 2013-2015 Nissan Leaf vehicles about a problem that could result in extended braking distances. According to the defect report, the relay inside the electronic brake booster could freeze in cold temperatures. If this occurs, the vehicle will illuminate the brake warning lamp and the system will set to “assist mode”. More pedal effort and increased braking distances could increase the risk of an accident. Manufacturer Defect Could Affect Maserati Speed Control
Maserati will be asking the owners of certain 2014-2016 Maserati Quattroporte and Ghibli cars to return to their dealerships to repair a problem that could affect speed control. According to the defect report, these vehicles were manufactured with a driver side floor mat anchor which could break over time. The mat could become trapped between the accelerator pedal and carpet and affect the operation of the throttle position. A stuck accelerator pedal could startle the vehicle operator, thereby increasing the risk of a crash. However, the vehicle is equipped with a brake override operating function which will disable any engine torque command requests by the accelerator pedal command. Continue reading
2015-2016 Jeep Renegade Rear Suspension May Shift
A small number of 2015-2016 Jeep Renegade owners will be contacted by the manufacturer about a problem affecting the suspension in their vehicles. According to the defect report, certain Daystar aftermarket replacement rear control arm brackets, included in 2015-2016 Jeep Renegade 1.5″ spacer kit (part KJ09168BK), may have improper or incomplete welds on the top flange on the rear control arm bracket. The problem could result in the rear axle shifting while driving, increasing the risk of an accident. The problem will be accompanied by noise and a sagging rear suspension at the wheel well. 2015 Chrysler 200 Improper Airbag Deployment
Chrysler will be asking the owners of certain 2015 Chrysler 200 cars to return to their dealership for a problem affecting the airbag deployment system. The affected vehicles have had the Occupant Classification Module (OCM) or the Seat Cushion Foam (SCF) of the front passenger seat replaced during service work. If both pieces were not replaced together, the occupant detection and classification system may not be properly calibrated and the passenger air bag could improperly deploy during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
