Do You Think Your GMC Truck Could Be A Lemon?
The Law Offices of Barry L. Edzant have successfully represented thousands of California lemon law clients for 31 years and recovered millions of dollars from all automobile manufacturers.
Under the California Lemon Law (the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act) you may be able to get your money back if you are experiencing repeated substantial problems, or safety related problems, with your GMC Truck.
The following popular GMC Truck models may have experienced recalls and technical service bulletins (TSB's).
- GMC Canyon
- GMC Savana
- GMC Sierra 1500
- GMC Sierra 2500HD
- GMC Sierra 3500HD
- GMC Terrain
- GMC Yukon
- GMC Yukon XL
The most often reported GMC Truck problems and symptoms include:
climate system problems,
excessive oil consumption,
heating and air conditioning,
ignition switch problems,
in-car electronic problems,
power equipment problems,
steering and suspension.
The models most affected by these problems include Acadia, Canyon, Savana, Sierra 1500, Sierra 2500HD, Sierra 3500HD, Terrain, Yukon
and Yukon XL.
Shaking, jerking, difficult shifting and a transmission that bangs into gear
is a common complaint of GMs eight speed automatic transmissions installed in certain 2015-2019 GMC trucks. (GM 8L90 and 8L45 transmissions.) The problem is most prevalent when accelerating or decelerating as the transmission shifts to the next gear, though, it is not specific to a gear in particular. The vehicles affected by this transmission problem include: 2015-2019 GMC Sierra, 2015-2019 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL and 2017-2019 GMC Canyon.
According to a class action lawsuit filed earlier this year, the problem comes from too much friction within the torque converter. This causes metal shavings to travel throughout the transmission, causing it to wear prematurely. GM has already issued several technical service bulletins to correct the problem, but so far none of them have worked.
Air conditioning problems are another common problem of certain 2014-2018 GMC Yukon and Sierra
trucks. According to owner complaints, coolant lines between the compressor to condenser cannot tolerate the system pressures. Repeated leaks, expensive repairs and the long wait for parts have left owners frustrated.
The vehicles affected by this problem include:
- 2014-2018 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL
- 2014-2018 GMC Sierra 1500
- 2015-2016 GMC Sierra Heavy Duty
- 2014-2018 GMC Sierra 1500
- 2015 -2016 GMC Sierra Heavy Duty
