California Lemon Law Qualifications
our vehicle could qualify as a lemon under the California lemon law if:
- you purchased or leased a new vehicle for personal or small business use.
- you started experiencing problems during the new car warranty period.
- you have allowed the manufacturer a reasonable number of repair attempts.
- Three (3) or more repair attempts for the same or similar substantial problem, OR
- Two (2) repair attempts for a safety related problem, OR
- Your vehicle was out of service for a total of more than 30 days during the first 18 months or 18,000 miles, and
- the problem is still not repaired.
These are not absolute requirements to file for a vehicle buyback. There are many situations that do not meet these guidelines but may still entitle you to protection under the California Lemon Law statutes.
