{"id":7724,"date":"2016-12-13T17:06:53","date_gmt":"2016-12-13T21:06:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calemonlaw.com\/blog\/?p=7724"},"modified":"2016-12-13T17:09:57","modified_gmt":"2016-12-13T21:09:57","slug":"2017-maserati-ghibli-levante-and-quattroporte-safety-defects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calemonlaw.com\/blog\/?p=7724","title":{"rendered":"2017 Maserati Ghibli, Levante and Quattroporte Safety Defects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The owners of certain 2017 Maserati <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calemonlaw.com\/recall\/make-MASERATI\/GHIBLI\/2017\/\">Ghibli<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calemonlaw.com\/recall\/make-MASERATI\/LEVANTE\/2017\/\">Levante<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calemonlaw.com\/recall\/make-MASERATI\/QUATTROPORTE\/2017\">Quattroporte<\/a> cars will be contacted by the manufacturer regarding problems affecting the power train, tires, and backup camera.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Power Train Problems:<\/strong>   Certain 2017 Quattroporte and Ghibli vehicles manufactured July 1, 2016, to October 12, 2016, may have been built with a rear differential pinion nut that was not torqued to the proper specifications.  A loose pinion gear could bind, possibly resulting in the rear wheels locking up while driving.  Maserati&#8217;s number for this recall is 328 and the NHTSA campaign number is 16V-856. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Defective Tires:<\/strong>  Certain 2016-2017 Ghibli and 2017 Quattroporte vehicles, manufactured February 29, 2016 to October 29, 2016 are equipped with Pirelli P Zero All Season tires, size 275\/40R19 101W, that may develop cracks and leaks in their lower sidewall.  A loss of air may result in tire failure and loss of vehicle control.  Maserati&#8217;s number for this recall is 324 and the NHTSA campaign number is 16V-840. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Inoperable Back-Up Cameras:<\/strong>   Certain 2017 Quattroporte, Ghible, and Levante vehicles manufactured July 1, 2016 to November 14, 2016 were built with a software problem within the entertainment telematics module (ETM).   When subjected to temperatures below 32 degrees F, the ETM may place itself into a protection mode, disabling the rear view (back-up) camera.
