According to the defect report filed with the NHTSA, the vehicles were manufactured with a gear shift lever which could mislead drivers into believing their transmission is in \u201cPark\u201d.  The problem could result in the vehicle unexpectedly rolling away. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Owners will be mailed an interim notification on July 1, 2016. and a second notice will be mailed when the software is available. Those wanting more information about the problem are asked to contact Maserati customer service at 1-201-510-2369.
