According to the defect report filed with the NHTSA, the vehicles were assembled with halfshafts  with low case depth thickness .  These halfshafts could fracture without warning and lead to loss of motive power in front wheel drive vehicles, road debris, as well as damage to nearby components.  <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Owners will be asked to return to their dealerships to have both front halfshaft replaced.  Those wanting more information about the problem are asked to contact Chrysler&#8217;s customer service at 1-800-853-1403.
