{"id":6028,"date":"2014-07-22T13:14:48","date_gmt":"2014-07-22T17:14:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.calemonlaw.com\/blog\/?p=6028"},"modified":"2014-08-14T14:54:19","modified_gmt":"2014-08-14T18:54:19","slug":"jeep-cherokee-and-dodge-durango-electrical-short","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.calemonlaw.com\/blog\/?p=6028","title":{"rendered":"Jeep Cherokee And Dodge Durango Electrical Short"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to reports filed with the NHTSA, certain 2011-2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calemonlaw.com\/recall\/make-JEEP\/GRAND+CHEROKEE\/2014\/\">Jeep Grand Cherokee<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.calemonlaw.com\/recall\/make-DODGE\/DURANGO\/2014\/\">Dodge Durango<\/a> SUV&#8217;s could experience an increased chance of vanity lamp overheating after receiving a service repair which requires gaining access above the headliner. <\/p>\n<p>On March 2011, Chrysler opened an investigation as the result of customer complaints of  thermal damage in the sun visor area.  It was determined that during installation of a previous repair, the sun visor screws could be driven through one of the unsecured vanity lamp wiring circuits creating a resistive short to ground.  If the vanity lamp wiring shorts, there is an increased risk of fire.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Chrysler will be notifying owners to take their vehicles to a dealer to inspect and repair any damaged wiring, and install a new sun visor that properly routes the wire. Owners wanting more information about the problem can contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403.
