According to Subaru, moisture could get into the circuit board<!--more--> and connector of the puddle lights causing a short.  The short could generate enough heat to melt the plastic and could result in smoke and eventually fire.   Owners receiving a notice about the problem can take their vehicle to their nearest dealership to have an additional fuse harness installed.
