Overheating of electrical components within the starter can increase the risk of a fire, whether the vehicle is in operation or parked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recall affects the following BMW models:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2020 BMW 340i<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2019-2020 BMW X5<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2020 BMW X6<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2020\u20132025 BMW 840i<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2020\u20132022 BMW 740Li<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2019\u20132020 BMW X7<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">BMW Engine Starter Replacement<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>BMW dealers will correct the problem by&nbsp;<strong>replacing the engine starter.<\/strong>. Importantly, this recall also applies to vehicles that were previously repaired under <strong>recall 24V-576<\/strong>\u2014owners of those vehicles will need to have their cars repaired again.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Owner Notification Letters<\/strong>: Scheduled to begin mailing on <strong>November 17, 2025<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your vehicle is affected, schedule an appointment with your BMW dealer for the repair.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be aware of potential warning signs such as <strong>difficulty starting, electrical smells, or unusual sounds from the engine bay<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As a precaution, consider <strong>parking your vehicle outdoors until repairs are complete<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>BMW\u2019s repeated starter relay recalls underscore the importance of <strong>taking electrical issues seriously<\/strong>.
