Honda is recalling certain 2006 Acura RSX and 2006-2007 Honda S2000 vehicles for a problem which could lead to decreased brake assist.

According to the recall report, during the manufacturing of the brake booster cylinder, insufficient clamping between the two outer housing components could create a gap that will not allow the booster to maintain a vacuum when the brake is depressed. Drivers could experience abnormal braking noises and increased stopping distances that could result in an accident.

Owners receiving a recall notice will be asked to take their vehicles to a Honda or Acura automobile dealer to have the brake booster assembly inspected and replaced as necessary. For more information about the problem, contact Honda at 1-310-783-2000.
